We explain upon you, the best of historical incidents by revealing this Reading into you, and before It, you were among the heedless.
Before getting Inspiration, Messenger Muhammad was among heedless, and before getting the Guidance Adhikr, he was among the strayed as explained in verse 6: 122. Through verse 7: 205 the Lord is commanding the Messenger and thereby the believers not to become heedless after getting Adhikr. It is told in verses 32: 3 and 36: 6 that Adhikr – the Wise Reading – is revealed to warn a heedless people as they are not warned by their forefathers so that they may be guided into the Straightpath. As explained in verse 10: 42-43: "You can’t make the dead hypocrites hear, nor even call the deaf Fajirs if they are turning back; you are not the one who guides the blind out of their straying; indeed you make not hear except the one who believes with Our verses and who have submitted wholly to their Lord”.
